Gary Alvarado
Manufacturing Specialist
My name is Gary Alvarado l and I am your TechHelp Manufacturing Specialist in Northern Idaho. I am committed to using my experience and education to help Idaho manufacturers, processors and inventors become more competitive through continual product and process innovation.
Experienced….My inquisitive nature has led me on a lifelong journey of Discovery. During 9 years in the United States Air Force, I developed a strong background in project management and program development and sought methods and processes to improve organizational behaviors & systems to facilitate workload. My journey included exposure to the Quality Management Systems, Training within Industry, and “Lean” thinking we hear so much about today.
“What we know today, we learned in kindergarten” describes my experience; simple is always better than complex. Much of my organizational development and manufacturing experience was developed working with Kaiser Aluminum Chemical Corporation, Pentad Systems, and Kimball Office International where I served as Operations & maintenance facilitator, Training and implementation manager, and production manager. Each position served as a building block that prepared me to be an effective Manufacturing Specialist at TechHelp.
Educated...I earned an Associates of Applied Science degree in Industrial Safety and Security from Community College of the Air Force, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Psychology from Eastern Washington University, and Masters Degree in Public Administration from Eastern Washington University. I hold a certificate for Six Sigma Green Belt, a National SME Shingo Bronze Certificate in Lean Manufacturing, Training and Implementation. I specialize in organizational behavior and change management and, as a certified Eureka! Growth Coach, can help your company grow with smarter ideas for products, markets and messaging.
Local...I live in the Spokane area, and am based at the University of Idaho Research Park in Post Falls. I work closely with my colleagues across the State, the University of Idaho College of Engineering, the local Small Business Development Center and other economic development organizations to meet the needs of companies in North Idaho.
I look forward to meeting with you to provide a complimentary assessment of your production processes and your prospects for growth. Give me a call on my cell phone at 208.699.5107 or email me at alvarado@uidaho.edu and let’s discuss how TechHelp can help you see 20/20 – a 20% improvement in bottom line savings and a 20% boost in top line growth.
