Steve's selection by NIST MEP as the system's Innovator of the Year for 2007 is a well deserved accolade for this thoughtful and talented specialist. Steve Hatten is a mechanical and manufacturing systems engineer with a wide range of experience in engineering and manufacturing environments. Kevin Learned , Associate Business Consultant - Idaho Small Business Development Center

Kevin is a nearly native of Boise, having arrived in Boise when he was nine months old.  In the intervening years he has been a CPA, a securities broker, the co-founder of Learned-Mahn, a Boise software company that supplied its software nationwide in the banking and hospital industries, a college professor of entrepreneurship, the President of Albertson College of Idaho and CEO of The Network Group, a Boise information technology services firm. He is the founding member of the Boise Angel Fund which invests in high growth potential early stage companies and is the Idaho Agent for RAIN Source Capital which fosters the development of angel investing funds. Over his career he has consulted with more than 100 Boise-area businesses and non-profits.

Dr. Steven Beyerlein, Professor of Mechanical Engineering, University of Idaho

Dr. Beyerlein serves as coordinator of the Mechanical Engineering capstone design program at the University of Idaho. Using classroom presentation and a factory simulation,  National Manufacturing Practitioner of the Year Finalist, Don Hansen, and Food Specialist, Jeff Kronenberg of TechHelp and the University of Idaho will introduce participants to the Principles of the Lean Enterprise.

David was introduced to advanced manufacturing practices early in his career at General Electric. That initial exposure instilled a passion for process and product improvement that still burns in David today. David's career included several assignments with GE's Aircraft Engine division as well as positions with RE/MAX International, and Heinz in Pocatello where he was warehouse and production supervisor. Brian has more than 25 years experience in manufacturing and distribution industry. He has held a variety of management positions from the shop-floor of an electronics company to Manager of European Inventories for the Xerox Corporation to Vice President of Product Development and Customer Service of the Unitronix Corporation. Peter Kropf began his Lean Manufacturing journey while working for Ingersoll Rand in various Sourcing and Supply Chain Management positions in the United States and Europe.  In 2003, he joined the Brunswick Corporation as Materials Manager responsible for 5 US and one Mexican plant, during which time he lead the implementation of Toyota Production System (TPS) methodologies.  For over 2 years, Peter has been a Consultant and Managing Partner with Gembutsu Consulting, a Lean Manufacturing consulting firm based in Seattle, WA.  In this capacity, he has completed lean transformation projects in a host of industries, including special projects with TechHelp. Peter has an MBA (1999) from Syracuse University in New York."
