Export Excellence 2010 Class Meets Feb 25, Mar 25 & April 22

Export Excellence Three-Month Program

The Idaho Export Excellence 2010 Program brings together executives from 6-8 companies once per month for three months to meet with Idaho export professionals who will help each company develop a personalized Export Action Plan. The $300 cost per company funds the volunteer efforts of the Idaho District Export Council. The fee covers two top executives per company, all course materials, expert instruction and ongoing coaching and assistance with plan implementation.

  • Month/Session One - Rationale & Strategy for International Growth
    Discuss the international imperative and successful export strategies and define priorities for session two.
  • Month/Session Two - Mechanics of Exporting
    Content and expert speakers are customized to the specific needs of each company.
  • Month/Session Three - Customized Export Plan
    Each company presents an international growth plan for feedback from a panel of experts.
  • Between Sessions participants will gather information, think strategically and develop their Export Action Plans with the aid of the export coaches introduced during the sessions. 
  • Month Four & Beyond - Action - Idaho export experts help companies prepare for a state or federal trade mission or USEAC Gold Key Service in order to dive in to the export experience.

 Good Candidates for the Export Excellence Program

  • You are selling successfully in the US and believe your product would do well overseas but you are not sure how to export.
  • Your product has a strong competitive advantage and is already attracting foreign interest with little effort on your part. You want to develop a plan to identify and exploit your BEST export opportunities.
  • You have decent export sales to certain countries and would like to develop a plan to devellop your best opportunities in additional countries.

Export Excellence Helps Rodenator Blast Export Sales

Ed Meyer, left, produces the Rodenator pest elimination system at his plant in Emmet, Idaho. Export sales that had grown to 40% of the business balanced out sales lost due to the U.S. recession. Meyer used Export Excellence to focus on additional foreign markets that would stabalize the business.

"In the past I’ve had lots of information thrown at me, but this class helped me pull everything together, write a plan, and develop clear goals,” said Meyer. “The interactive approach and small class size was perfect for lots of one-on-one discussions with the pros that they brought in.
