One of our favorite Vandals, Jeff Kronenberg, visited Kyrgyzstan in late 2016 to deliver information and training in food and dairy safety to local processors. Jeff is a food safety specialist with TechHelp and the University of Idaho. You can read all about Jeff’s travels in the January 11, 2017 edition of “Catching Up with CALS,” the Newsletter of the University of Idaho College of Agricultural and Life Sciences.
Jeff is a seasoned food safety professional with over 31 of experience in the food processing industry. He has held positions in operations and corporate quality, productivity, food safety, HACCP, and health & safety. In 2011 and 2012, Jeff provided food safety and HACCP workshops and technical assistance to food and dairy processing personnel and government regulators in Belarus. The focus on Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point training reflects Kyrgyzstan officials’ interest in producing export products that meet market standards. His Oct. 31-Nov. 11 visit was a collaboration with BT Innovations in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan’s capital and largest city, and ACDI-VOCA, an international development nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C.
