Background

Bill’s main priority is to keep Idaho manufacturers, food processors, and entrepreneurs apprised of TechHelp programs, services, and training they can use to improve their global competitiveness. Bill communicates with TechHelp’s audience through the TechHelp Website, industry events, newsletters, news releases, social networking tools, media ads, and through an extensive network of economic development partners.

As a member of TechHelp’s New Product & Market Development Team, Bill works directly with TechHelp clients to help them develop ideas and markets that will drive profitable growth.   He earned a certificate as a Eureka! Growth Coach in the summer of 2007 and helped introduce the Eureka! Winning Ways program to Idaho. EWW! evolved into the Innovation Engineering Management System (IEMS). Bill worked towards a Black Belt in that discipline and still uses the principles of IEMS when working with Idaho companies.

As a  member of the Idaho District Export Council, Bill works with Idaho export professionals to help Idaho companies address issues related to exporting. In early 2009, Bill worked with the DEC and U.S. Commercial Service to launch the Idaho Export Excellence Program that helped over 50 Idaho companies develop strategic export action plans that guided them in accelerating profitable export growth.  The Export Excellence program provided meaningful internships to nearly 70 International Business Students from the Boise State College of Business & Economics. In 2014, Bill began sharing his passion for global issues with Boise State students by teaching International Management 334 for the College of Business and Economics.

Bill’s experience includes sales, marketing, communications, and program development with Century Link Communications, the US West Technology Outreach Program, the US West eBITS program, Schweitzer Mountain Resort, Olin Corporation, Northrop Grumman, and the US Air Force.  Bill’s exposure to manufacturing began during high school when he worked at Frey Tool and Engineering company in Chicago running machine shop equipment including an early version of a numerically controlled mill.

"Working with the TechHelp team and all of our valuable partners to meet the needs of Idaho Manufacturers has been incredibly rewarding."
