studio\Blu is a consortium between the Colleges of Engineering, Business & Economics, TechHelp, and Industry partners. Our goal is to connect Idaho industry and entrepreneurs to advanced technology and workforce. We offer a wide variety of services to help our clients in all the stages from one concept idea through designing, prototyping, testing, initial manufacturing, funding, and market.

We offer affordable services through a favorable and flexible fee structure. We can assess the steps needed to help our clients get their products to markets. Our clients are encouraged to be involved in the whole process by participating in work sessions to receive immediate feedback and meet regularly with our qualified staff. 

Boise State studio\Blu Team 

The studio\Blu Team at Boise State consists of the following groups that work together to meet the needs of students, faculty, staff, and industry. 

• The New Product Development (NPD) Team provides product design, prototyping, graphic design, and other product development services to manufacturers, engineering firms, and entrepreneurs. NPD is led by Grey Beaudry, NPD Manager, TechHelp.
• The Funding Accelerator, powered by VentureCapital.Org, helps NPD clients and other technology startups gain access to funding. The Accelerator is led by Nicole Hamblin of COBE TechHelp and a TBD NPD Manager at TechHelp.
• The Engineering Innovation Studio (EIS) is available for Boise State students, faculty, and staff to work on school-related projects using a wide variety of shop tools. The EIS is led by Griff Allen, EIS Manager at COEN.
• Engineering Research Support (ERS) is staffed by highly skilled machinists who help Boise State researchers create quality products at an affordable price. ERS is led by ERS Manager Sarah Haight of COEN & NPD TechHelp.
