This FSPCA Preventive Controls for Human Food course is the “standardized curriculum” recognized by the FDA. This course covers regulation Title 21 CFR 117 – Current Good Manufacturing Practice, Hazard Analysis, and Risk-Based Preventive Controls for Human Food. The course will go in-depth with requirements for Hazard Analysis and Risk-Based Preventive Controls based food safety training. Course participants will get familiar with all requirements of Preventive Controls based food safety plan and how to design the plan, and upon successful completion of the course become a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI).

STOPfakes.gov is a one-stop-shop for tools and resources on intellectual property rights (IPR). The federal agencies behind STOPfakes.gov have developed a number of resources to educate and assist businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as well as consumers, government officials, and the general public. The Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) system is a logical, scientific approach to controlling hazards in food production and is a preventive system assuring the safe production of food products. The principle of HACCP can be applied to production, meat slaughter and processing, shipping and distribution, food service, and home preparation.
Successful completion of this course will result in an Introduction to HACCP Certificate with the International HACCP Alliance seal of approval.

Lean Six Sigma (LSS) is a well-known approach for achieving operational excellence that does more than simply improve processes. LSS combines the process improvement benefits of Lean with the statistical process control (SPC) benefits of Six Sigma. It takes advantage of the “value-added” focus of Lean while maintaining the statistical rigors of Six Sigma. The course series includes four full-day training sessions with two weeks between sessions for participants to complete project work that is an essential part of the LSSGB program. Sessions will include all training materials, project support, venue, and food.
Participants from any manufacturing environment are welcome to attend and learn the basic elements, requirements, and standards in 29 CFR 1910. In addition, attendees will learn to develop and train on policies and procedures involved in identifying, avoiding, controlling, and preventing common workplace hazards. Students will also learn employer and employees responsibilities for each standard. At the completion of the course, you will receive a DOL (Department of Labor) OSHA 30 General Industry card. This course meets the training requirements of the OSHA 30 designation and is taught by Janna Hamlett of TechHelp and the University of Idaho, who is an authorized instructor.
